Functions & Specs

  • Fuel injection control can be modified by increments of 1%, changing up to +/- 30%. The fuel injection control can be changed at 7 points on the RPM curve (1000, 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000, 6000, 7000).
  • The unit will work with any ECU - stock, or custom.
  • The easily visible RPM gauge will show the engine RPMs in "Realtime" mode (while driving), and makes it easily visible during "Setup" mode. (hopefully you're not driving)
  • During "Realtime" mode, the fuel percentage mapping is performed in 100 RPM steps, and is displayed while driving. (See example if this doesn't make sense)
  • The SFC-Hyper will store up to 3 fuel settings for different driving conditions, and make it easier to compare fuel maps.
  • Settings 2 & 3 are pre-set as 2) fuel economy mode, and 3) standard performance mode, so even a beginner can benefit from the unit.
  • Adjustments to fuel maps can be made on the fly using the "Quick hold" function.
  • When no input is detected during "setup" mode, the unit will automatically return to "Realtime" mode in 5 seconds.
  • Compatible with a wide range of cars -- whether it be a "Kei" car or a GT-R.

  • For some turbo models, the SFC-Hyper will also remove the boost governor.
  • For some NA models, the SFC-Hyper will also remove the speed governor.
  • Safety features include low-battery sensors (prevents unit from malfunctioning) and auto-normal mode in case of other malfunctions.

A stock ECU takes into consideration smog laws, fuel economy, and engine longevity, so it is tuned modestly. Even a simple modification to your air cleaner element and exhaust system will benefit even more with giving the engine adequate fuel. Generally speaking, more fuel will increase the torque value, but too much fuel will make your engine lag (in raising its RPM's). On the other hand, decreasing fuel will make your engine feel lighter (will rev up easily), but too little fuel will result in knocking (aka hesitation).

WARNING : Please be careful when you decrease the fuel delivery. If you are not careful with this, you may seriously damage your engine.

Therefore, it is recommended to perform tuning sessions while the engine is warmed up. If you have a pyrometer or temperature sensor, you should confirm that the exhaust temperature is under 850 degrees Celsius for NA engines, and under 880 degrees Celsius for turbo engines during maximum load.

Though you can compare performance numbers on a dyno, the engine response is something that can only be felt by you, the driver. Use the multiple settings available to you to determine the optimum point for both performance and engine response.
