Excitement at every turn of the steering wheel. Grip and control from the 4 tires and suspension that traces the intended line of travel. A variety of controllability at the tip of your feet. A wide range of enjoyment can be extracted from the S2000.

The S2000’s goal was to obtain race-proven performance, yet be a enough of a "car" for the daily drive. To find such driving joy, we took on a new angle as we developed the S2000. First, much of the testing for simple driving pleasure was performed on normal roads, and refined. Everywhere from flats, high-speed roads, to weather-tempermental Europe. Additional testing on our Honda test course, as well as in Germany’s Nurnburg circuit helped us to complete the driving feel for the S2000.

As with many Hondas, the suspension set-up is a sporty, stable, and highly adjustable 4-wheel double-wishbone suspension.

While the wheel arms are compacted, the wheel is made more of an "in- wheel," so the body attachment-side gets a wider span, allowing for structural rigidity. Additionally, the subframe is mounted strategically to provide quick and linear handling response. To further obtain sharper handling, ample rubber was needed for the rear tires. The S2000 uses customized 205/55R16’s in the front, and 225/50R16’s in the rear. Stock wheels are aluminum, and optional aluminum wheels co-developed by Honda and BBS are available as well. The latter are 8kg lighter than the stock wheels, which are already considerably light.

The power steering responds and assists even for fast steering inputs, and uses a setting-customizable EPS (Electronic Power Steering). Additionally, the gear ratios have been optimized to lighten, and obtain a more direct feel.

The brakes are 16-inch-type ventilated disk front, and 15-inch-type disks in the rear. ABS(*1) is used for braking efficiency and control. With excellent response, anti-brake-fade, and power, the brakes enhance your experience with the car.

(*1) - ABS (4-wheel Anti-lock Brake System) is a system that assists driver braking and enhances steering during hard braking situations. Therefore, like a car without ABS, you must decelerate adequately before turns. This is not a license to drive recklessly. Please drive safely.
