Once a while it is great to hear about the Honda scene from a Honda enthusiast from places you'd least expected to. In this case, we're talking about the HondaClub Czech Republic. The Czech Republic is located in center of Europe. It used to be a communist country but has since become a democratic country for more than 10 years. From a relatively unfamiliar country, it may surprise readers to know that it has a long automobile history in the form of the Laurint & Klement company. If that doesn't ring a bell, try Skoda Auto....
Back to the HondaClub Czech Republic. This club is slightly over 6 months old. It was formed on August 24 2002, when as with most clubs nowadays, founder Olda Culik and his friend started their web-site at www.HondaClub.cz. The web-site forms the foundation of HondaClub itself.
At the moment, the number of members as counted by users registered in the web-site is more than 230. 16 members have already contributed photos of their cars to the web-site with more expected to follow in the near future.
The objective of the club in the words of Olda is "to serve all with the big 'H' at the grill of their car". Rather more urgently, they are hoping to organize and hold their club's first meetings very soon.
As for current requrements for membership; registration is free for the moment, though there are plans for taxes (membership fee !) for organization of meetings and other operating expenses. Readers who are interested to join HondaClub Czech Republic will have to contact the founder Olda Culik via his email address at jardabar@hotmail.com.
