SuperGT comes to town !

The weekend of June 25th to 26th 2005 saw one of the absolute best racing series, Japan's Super-GT hold its third round at Malaysia's Sepang International Circuit. This series is truly racing at its best, featuring the world's fastest and best-loved sports and super-cars, modified with state of the art products from aftermarket manufacturers we are all familiar with, and best of all, with fantastic fan access to the drivers as well as the machines.

Taking my next step forward, this year I was able to cover the race weekend with 'media credentials' which afforded me very close access to the pits and the cars. To start off our series on the 2005 Sepang SuperGT race, I present a gallery of the photos I took during Friday practise from the pits. Following this will be similar galleries of photos taken during Saturday practise and Sunday's race and finally a special article featuring the Honda NSX'es that raced at the Sepang race.

Regular TOVA readers will probably already be familiar with what SuperGT is. SuperGT is just the new name for what used to known as the JGTC or Japan GT Championship. The rules are still similar but the new name was adopted because of its new status as an international racing series. Malaysia was very fortunate to be chosen to be the first country outside of Japan to hold a JGTC race, way back in 2000. The success of the Sepang race led the organisers to add a 2nd race, at the California Speedway circuit in the United States of America. Readers who wishes to know more about SuperGT can visit the SuperGT Official Website for more information.
