Why & How of Fuel Mapping

Fuel injection is controlled by the ECU, but the ECU gets its input from the Air Flow Meter. The SFC unit will modify the AFM signal and send that to the ECU, allowing for customization of the fuel map. The SFC unit will increase the signal by your pre-set percentage, and the ECU will respond accordingly.

Fuel injection control can be modified by increments of 1%, changing up to +/- 30%. The fuel injection control can be changed at 7 points on the RPM curve (1000, 2000, 3000, 4000, 5000, 6000, 7000).

If your settings are: 0% at 2000 RPM, +10% at 3000 RPM, other fuel mapping units may simply increase the fuel once it hits the next thousand mark, resulting in the below:

Basically, giving you the ability to tune more accurately. Furthermore, during "Realtime" mode, you will be able to see the percentages rise in 100 RPM increments as your RPMs increase.
