Powering Up

  1. Start your engine with the SFC unit's power on the "off" position. Please confirm normal operation of your engine, and that no "check engine" lights are on
  2. Turn engine off.
  3. Double-check that the dipstick positions are correct and turn the SFC unit's main power to "on".
  4. Turn on your engine.
  5. Please confirm normal operation of your engine, and that no "check engine" lights are on.
  6. Look at your SFC unit's front panel.
    • Please confirm that the mode switch, the up switch, and down switch are illuminated GREEN .
    • Press the Mode switch until it changes color to RED , and confirm that the RPM indicators are on, and the percentage monitor is blinking.
  7. While in neutral (park, whatever), rev the engine to confirm that your tachometer and the SFC unit are reading the same RPM. (you will find that stock, analog tachometers are not as accurate at higher RPMs)
  8. Turn your engine off, and set your ignition to off, to confirm that the SFC unit properly turns off. (in certain models of cars, there will be a slight delay before accessories are turned off, but this is perfectly normal)
